HOLA
Pregnancy is weird. I mean, in general but also because.. it just slows you down? It's like moving through molasses. So everything is just taking LONGER. I took almost an entire day yesterday putting together some ikea furniture and I'm not even sure why.
Anywho. It's quite irksome.
In other news, I made my gf's toddler a SUPER SHINY tiny tiny jacket. This thing was a 3T and let me tell you, THOSE CUFFS! So tiny! But it arrived safely and said toddler lovity loves it so I'm safe to post a photo. (Not that toddlers are on the internet reading the blogs of their mom's friends but.. whatever.)

Watch and see: this kid I'm gonna refuse to wear anything but polo shirts in solid colours with khaki colored pants.
hah.
Still, I suppose I could start a line of ULTRA GLAM toddler clothes? Is that a thing? Hmm.
MOVING ON.
Marriage is about compromise, which is why when my husband fell in love with the pattern on this pack and play I resigned myself to the terrible terrible owls on it.

OWLS.
To be fair, I actually LIKE owls. As creatures, they're pretty cool. I do NOT like the domination they seem to have on kid's stuff, or the weird reasons people have continued to gift me with owl crap over the years. Something about owls being smart?? THIS ISN'T TRUE.
Reasons to like owls:
They can disguise themselves as other owls
Their poop is full of bones
They will just swallow things whole
They're sneaky
Reasons NOT to like owls
They're smart. Cause they're not really that smart. Give me raven stuff if you want me to decorate with a smart bird. Owls are terrifying murder birds.
ANYWAY. It's unimportant. Suffice to say that the owls have gots to go.
SO! Here is a REAL TUTORIAL on how to make some felt bunny shaped things.

I'm not that fond of rabbits but my husband adores them. That's why they're all over the house. And really tiny felt chthulu's seemed too complicated for today.
STEP ONE. Come up with a plan. Three round blob things or one round blob thing, you need a creature that's mostly round.
STEP ONE. Come up with a plan. Three round blob things or one round blob thing, you need a creature that's mostly round.
Cut out your blobs. Then cut out your ears (2 per ear and 2 per bunny so... 12 ears total) Keep in mind that with seams everything is gonna be a bit smaller so make it a bit bigger than you would otherwise.
Also cut out 6 long rectangles that you'll be attaching these to if you plan to hang them.
NEXT cut out the inside bits of your ears and their faces. I did blue for the ears cause it matches the playpen but you can do whatever color you want. Use a bit of tacky glue to secure these to your felt (or spray starch but I didn't have any).
Then the trickiest and longest part - you need to hand stitch the faces on. YEAH I KNOW. I should have warned you. It took me.. a half episode of scream queens? So.. it doesn't take as long as that. If you're not giving it to a kid you can just hot glue it down, but stitches are safer.
zig zag stitch the insides of the ears down, and take it slow around those corners.

You want to stitch your ears together, with the BLUE side facing in. (right sides together!) Leave the bottom edge (where it attaches to the head) open so that you can flip these inside out. This will be more of a headache than you anticipated but a wooden chopstick will help A WHOLE LOT! Ditto on the long rectangle thing, stitch the two long sides together. Turn that out too.
Now! You're gonna make a sandwich to sew. You want to pin your ears like so facing IN on the FACE side of the body. Ditto on the long bit. Then put the other side of the bunny on top, sandwiching the ears inside. Stitch around the edge, leaving a bit open so you can turn it inside out.
VOILA LOOK AT THAT now the ears are on the OUTSIDE! It's how I assume werewolves work.
Stuff your beastie, if you want, and carefully turn the open edges inward and then stay stitch around the whole thing effectively closing the hole.
