Anywho, as a result I didn't actually do much this week. I DID make a dress? It's pretty though the neckline got a bit messed up (GRRRRRR)
But I drafted it myself (WOO) out of two.. giant rectangles? That I just pleated from about halfway up. Then cut out a vague 'dress shape' and voila. I'd like to do it again, and then I'll post some instructions on it. But! At $4 a metre it was quite a steal, since the total project cost about $8.
Anywho. Today let me tell you about RACLETTE.
Raclette is the lazy cousin of a fondue. You don't have to precook your veggies (well, if you're doing potato you'll want to cook that) as it's basically a grill with a broiler underneath. You make up a plate like this:
THEN slice up some cheese for each plate. We did Oka and gruyere. (you want to slice cheese for each plate rather than have a shared cheese plate because of cheese monsters)
There are little trays that go underneath, fill these with whatever you want - I did pototoes and cheese or apple slices with cheese and cinnamon (AMAZING)
